• Stop Cookies especially from emails - Avoid downloading images till they are required
• Use Personal Proxies - reasons IP address can tell everyone of a person's address. Including other details it makes easier for ID Theft. How easy it is Find your IP address from email sent. And back track the IP address using WhatIsMyIPAddress.com.

Ways to Improve PC Performance

As I have done it so many times though of writing ways to do it

I suppose there are Few ways of taking care of it

• Registry Cleaning: CCleaner does it
• Disk Cleaning: Cleaning and removes files that eats up space like Temporay Files. CCleaner does it
• PC Optimizer: Some of the stuff which are on by defaults that are not needed usually
• Disable Indexing Services: See this Microsoft Site for it. See here
• Disable Search for Network Files/Printers
• Reduce Menu Delays
• Don't clear paging file on Shutdown
• Do a Defragment: If there is not enough space one can use 
• StartUp Menu: Use CCleaner
• Browser Add-ons: See you can remove some unwanted Program
• Remove Spyware and Adware: SpyBot and others like removes it
• Remove unwated programs
• Other Advanced stuffs: Access advanced system tools, such as Event Viewer, Disk Defragmenter, and System Information, that system administrators and IT professionals often use to solve problems. You can also view notifications about performance-related issues and what to do about them. For example, ifWindows detects that a driver is reducing performance, click the notification to learn which driver is causing the problem and view help on how to update the driver. Issues listed at the beginning of the list are impacting the system more than issues listed later in the list.

Three sites to compare deals on, or more importantly any electronic deals or even other things also...

pricegabber.com or froogle.com ...... To compare prices for some item Then sort on the lowest price that is going on...
salescircular.com ... To find which deal is best deals from store....
slickdeals.net ... For a STEAL... will only mention very good deals.. Also has a discussion board where ppl discuss........

Again things to look into a Laptop in order of priority
1. Memory - Do not go below 1 GB if you want the laptop for more than 3 years...

2. Screen Size - Choose at least more than 14 inches if you want to
watch movies.. most are coming with 15"
2. CPU - I still think both AMD and Intel are almost the same... but
things to look in comparing CPU
The name of processor is sure way to find how good is it
> In Intel the cheaper CPU are Celeron and the costiers are
Centrino ( now usual a Dual Core )
>. In AMD The cheaper is Sempron and costlier is Athlon

1. Processor Cache - Still one of the costliest stuff in a computer - Also called L2 cache - Many cheaper will not have it, especailly Sempron or Celeron
2. Dual Processor -
3. Clock speed measures in GHz... Most are close to each other and
until you are real gamer or works on hig end graphics 1.6 and 1.8
are good enough

3. Operating System - I still prefer XP anyday to Vista... But I think
if you want to keep a laptop for 3+ years buy Vista... As XP will not
be supported after next year, also Vista has the wow effect. THough
atleast for 2 years you will find more softwares for XP than Vista....

4. Brand - Some brand have better features and thus the difference.
For example XPS in Dell are considered the better ones... Similarly
ThinkPad not the one from Lenova but IBM are much more better build.


As for other thing I am quite sure of two things....
1. Will be adding more to it
2. True to Moore's law, that transistor thus speed will double every 24 months, soon the stuff I say will be out of date!!!

My first Technical Blog

It is very funny though I spend maximum time in technology and also is my bread and butter I hardly have blogged on it. So finally after talking about everything about everything else thought of finally starting a blog site on that...

And where does it all start a Geek's biggest soft spot, or the Samurai in his accouterments .... Laptop...

And though I like to make it look good... I suppose the practicality of this writing where the mind dominates the heart I am quite sure it will be more abstract and coarse.
